84.6% of top global beauty brands are Animal Testing in 2023 and not cruelty-free. Only 15.4% of the global brands are cruelty-free and do not fund animal testing.

  2. Checked the cruelty-free status of all the brands based on our huge database.
  3. Analyzed the result thoroughly.

What you need to know about the list?

  • Many MNCs on the list are parent company to leading beauty brands.
  • Main focus of the list are beauty brands and/or companies that own beauty companies.
  • Some of these companies even offer products in other categories such as personal care, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals. A few of these are also leading manufacturers.

18 brands are cruelty-free in the list of 117 top global brands we looked at.

Cruelty-free is a lifestyle that is gaining popularity over the decade. Sustainability and ethical consumerism are on a rise. However, a major chunk of top industry players are still funding animal testing in cosmetics.

  • 8 to 9 beauty brands are involved in animal testing and hence not cruelty-free out of 10.
  • Choices for cruelty-free brands among the globally popular brands are extremely low.
