- Checked the cruelty-free status of all the brands based on our huge database.
- Analyzed the result thoroughly.

- Many MNCs on the list are parent company to leading beauty brands.
- Main focus of the list are beauty brands and/or companies that own beauty companies.
- Some of these companies even offer products in other categories such as personal care, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals. A few of these are also leading manufacturers.

Cruelty-free is a lifestyle that is gaining popularity over the decade. Sustainability and ethical consumerism are on a rise. However, a major chunk of top industry players are still funding animal testing in cosmetics.
- 8 to 9 beauty brands are involved in animal testing and hence not cruelty-free out of 10.
