Glossier – Past & Present
2014 – Glossier saw the daylight in the hands of Emily Weiss, a beauty blogger and ex-contributor of Vogue. This 6 year old beauty brand started in 2014, after the huge success of Emily’s beauty blog Into the Gloss. From the beginning of her career in the Vogue, Emily was not fully happy from the commonly available beauty products.
2010 – She felt these products are good for dramatic makeup but not that suitable for light daily wear. As she went on with her own blog in 2010, she heard her readers saying the same thing as well. She started her own beauty line, Glossier, to fill up the gap.
Emily wanted to reach her customers’ heart via ‘word-of-mouth’. Her direct selling strategies and social media presence proved to be a big hit among her audience.
Currently – The little range of makeup has now expanded into a huge range of skin care, makeup and fragrances. Currently Glossier is available in 50 states of the US. You can also buy it in France, UK, Ireland, Sweden, Alaska, Puerto Rico and Canada.
